The global payments platform, PayPal, has returned to Nigeria with Paga integration, allowing merchants and individuals to withdraw their PayPal funds through Paga. The concept of the integration is simple: Nigerians receive international payments through PayPal and settle them in Naira through Paga.
PayPal-Paga Integration
Now, Nigerians that have PayPal accounts can receive payments from more than 200 countries, and withdraw funds instantly in Naira to their bank account. They can also shop globally at merchants that accept PayPal while keeping balances in dollars if they prefer.
Linking PayPal to Paga
Follow these steps to link your Paga to a PayPal account:
- Login to your Paga account and tap on the "Naira Account" drop-down at the right corner of the dashboard.
- Next, select "PayPal account".
- Tap "Link PayPal account".
- You'll be redirected to PayPal login page.
- You'll be required to enter your PayPal email and and password.
- Once these details are provided correctly, both accounts will be linked together.
- You'll be redirected back to Paga dashboard where your PayPal account dashboard, inside Paga, will shown as it's seen in the image below.
- Next, go back to your PayPal and confirm your linkage: PayPal will send you a notification, telling you to confirm your integration with Paga.
- You'll need to login to your PayPal account, tap the notification icon, and access the message to confirm your linkage.
- Once the linkage is confirmed, any money sent to your PayPal account through your registered email will reflect on your PayPal Account Dashboard in the Paga app.
Note: If you don't have a Paga account, you can create a new one by downloading the app on your phone's app store. Same thing is applicable to PayPal. You can also create a new PayPal account through the Paga app. Another important thing you need to know is that the balance in your PayPal only shows in your Paga dashboard, it's not been transferred into the Paga wallet until your withdraw it using the withdrawal button.
The balance will be denomonated in USD, EUR, or GBP in your PayPal account. While on Paga dashboard, it'll be denomonated in NGN. Upon conversion, withdrawal, and transfer, it's important to know that service fees will be charged, and conversation rate can fluctuate based on FX exchange rate.
