YouTube Night Data is a special mobile data that allows telecom subscribers to stream YouTube videos at a cheaper rate during late-night hours. These hours are usually between around 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. Specifically, YouTube night data is designed to help people save data while watching. This is the main reason the data plan is popular among Nigerian students, night workers, and heavy YouTube users.
The data is often restricted to YouTube only. This means, you cannot used the YouTube night data during the day or any other social media platforms. There are dedicated data that handles all of that on it one. In addition to that, YouTube night data usually expires within the same night or after a short period, depending on the network offering it.
For instance, Glo offers YouTube Night plan at 1GB per day for N250, and 3GB in 2-days for N600. So, the night plan differs by service providers you're using. However, we're going to break everything down in this article without leaving no stone unturned. We'll explain how to activate and use YouTube Night Data for Airtel subscribers, MTN subscribers, GLO, and T2, formerly 9Mobile.
How to Activate YouTube Night Data Plan
For MTN Subscribers
MTN offers two categories of YouTube night data plans: weekly plans and monthly plans. You can start using these data plans from 12A.M to 5A.M.

To activate these MTN's YouTube Night Data, dial *312*1*13#. From there, you can choose whether you want weekly bundle or monthly bundles. However, it's important to let you know that MTN doesn't offer daily plans for YouTube Night Data bundle.
MTN Night Data Bundle
MTN Night Data Plan is the only night data plan works for all purposes. The plan is being offered on MTN Pulse. This bundle works for YouTube and other social media platforms. You can also use the MTN Night Bundle to browse the web. The MTN Night Data bundle is offered at N75 for 500MB, and fair usage policy of 2GB per night is applied.
To activate this data plan, dial *406# on your MTN Line. Choose option 3 (Night Bundles) and follow the prompts to activate the data. The data can be purchased using your MTN credit or pulse points, and of course, you'll not be able to use this data plan if you've not migrated to MTN Pulse tariff.
For Airtel Subscribers
Airtel is the second-largest service providers in Nigeria. The telecom also offers YouTube Night Data plans for subscribers but these plans are bundled inside Airtel’s higher weekly plans. To get started, dial *312# on your Airtel number, then follow the prompts to activate the Airtel's night sub.

The ₦1,000 plan comes with 1.5GB main data plus 2GB YouTube Night data and 200MB for YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, and this bundle is only valid for 7 days. The ₦1,500 plan offers 5GB main data with the same 2GB YouTube Night and 200MB social bonus, also valid for 7 days. The ₦2,500 plan includes 6GB main data plus 2GB YouTube Night and 200MB social data.
Furthermore, the ₦3,000 plan gives 10GB main data with 2GB YouTube Night and 200MB for YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Finally, the ₦5,000 weekly plan provides 18GB main data and still includes 2GB YouTube Night data plus 200MB social bonus. All these YouTube Night allocations are meant for late-night streaming and do not affect your main data balance.
For GLO Subscribes
Globacom (GLO) YouTube Night data plans come without stress and it's straight forward. The telecom only offers two types of Night bundles for YouTube streaming: 1GB for N250 per day, and 3GB for 2 days for N600.
You can activate GLO YouTube Night data plan simply by dialing *312# and follow the prompts to choose the Night plans. *312# is the data plans code for all telecom companies in Nigeria. So, you can dial it on any SIM regardless of their providers.
Furthermore, you can also activate GLO YouTube Night Data Bundle on the OPAY app. Just login to your OPAY app and navigate to "Data" under the service menu in the app. Select "GLO" as your provider and scroll the tab menus right to see YouTube as it's shown in the image above.
For T2 Subscribers
T2, formerly 9Mobile, is the least service provider in Nigeria. The telecom has the lowest subscribers and due to this, the company lack enough capital to establish itself. So, it's relying on other telecom company's infrastructure to provide its services. Currently, thr only social bundle T2 is offering is Facebook weekly and monthly plans. But you can also dial *312# to check the list of available data plans that are available on T2 Mobile.
